About Me

I’m Dr. Catarina Reyes Santinho, a proud daughter of Colombian and Portuguese immigrants and the first in my family to grow up in the U.S. My personal and professional journey has shaped the heart of my work, helping people heal from eating disorders, navigate complex family dynamics, and find their way through the challenges of young adulthood. With years of experience in college counseling, I understand the unique pressures of academic life, identity exploration, and transitions. My approach is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth because I know reaching out can feel like the hardest step. To make it easier, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can see if we are the right fit.

My approach:

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in cultural understanding. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a safe, judgment-free space where you can explore your experiences openly. I draw from evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and psychodynamic approaches, while tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful change, greater self-awareness, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself and others.

Beyond the therapy room:

When I’m not working with clients, I draw strength from my rich family heritage and the values that have shaped who I am today. I share my life with my dog Loki, who brings joy and comfort every day. Dance is another passion of mine because it keeps me grounded, joyful, and connected to my body and emotions. Outside of therapy, I enjoy exploring new places, savoring good food, and cherishing moments of genuine connection. These parts of my life inspire my commitment to supporting others on their healing journeys with warmth and authenticity.
